OUR MISSION
Firebird Light Opera's mission is to bring high-quality light opera and musical theatre to life on the stage. At Firebird, we strive to further enrich the Reno-Tahoe area's cultural landscape by producing substantive theatrical masterwork performances. We aim to connect the community through participation in educational outreach, in-house performance training, live performance opportunities, and collaboration with other Reno based performing arts entities. In this way, we endeavor to foster artistic integrity and a deeper appreciation for opera and musical theatre in the community.

Firebird Light Opera envisions a theatrical space where performers come together to reach their full potential by creating high-quality live theatre at a reasonable cost to the public and, building on Reno’s rich arts history, create a home for entertaining, and inspiring opera, operetta, and musical theatre with strong community collaboration and empowerment of its company members and artistic team.
OUR PURPOSE
The primary purpose of FLO is to bring professional-level musical theatrical performances, and high-quality educational opportunities to the Reno-Tahoe area and to provide amateur and professional performers, artists, and musicians with a positive, collaborative place where they can enjoy and perform great works for the stage together.
Firebird Light Opera promotes a democratic system wherein the performing members and artistic team have a voice and are valued as the center of the organization, with the board of directors serving the needs of the performing company. FLO creates respect and empowerment for all members through a share in artistic decision-making. FLO promotes open communication and transparency between all members and its board of directors.
